Adding New Joint

  • After Logging on to the system, click on the “Joints”1 Link from the Quick Links Menu.
  • A “Joints” window will be opened where you will choose Line/Tank and Sheet No to which the Joint will be added.
  • “Auto Complete” functionality is added to help you enter the Line/Tank No.
  • Selecting a Line/Tank; all its data is displayed such as Sheets, Spools, Drawing No, Pipe Class and Main Size.
  • Sheets and Spools are displayed within drop down lists. Spool dropdown list is filtered by selected Sheet No.
  • Joints are displayed within a grid view once a Line/Tank is selected.
  • Joints displayed within the grid view are filtered according to selected Sheet and Spool.
  • You can select a spool to add the Joint to it or add the joint directly to a sheet.
  • Choose a certain Spool within this Sheet. The grid view will display only the Joints within this selected Spool and a button “Add”.

  • Click “Add” button.
  • A window “Edit Joint” will be opened with the selected Area, Line/Tank, and Sheet displayed.
  • You can enter Joints details; Spool Code, Joint No, Joint Type, Joint Category, Thick, WPS.
  • In order to add a new Joint you have to enter: Thick, DIAM, Joint Type, Joint Category and Joint No.
  • This window also gives you the ability to Weld Joint while adding it to the system.
  • Clicking on “Reset” button, all the entered data will be cleared.
  • Clicking on “Return” button, you will be return to the “Joints” Main Screen and the Joint will not be added.
  • Clicking on “Save” button, the Main Screen “Joints” will be reopened and the new Joint will be displayed for you.
  • Clicking on  “Save & New”  button the  joint will be saved and “new joint” screen will be reopened by the same detail but by new  “joint No”

  • As mentioned above, you have the ability to weld a joint while adding it to the system via a “Weld Joint” panel displayed in “Edit Joint” window.4
  • An “Auto Complete” control is used to help you select welders.
  • Welders are filtered according to Joint’s WPS.
  • You can select any number of welders to Weld the Joint
  • Select Welder and then click “Add” button within the panel to add welder.
  • Enter Well date.

    • Clicking “Save” button, a new Joint is added to the system with status “Weld” and you are redirected back to “Joints” main window where newly added joint is displayed within Joints grid view.
    • Clicking “Save & New” button, a new Welded Joint is added to the system, a “Data Saved Successfully” message is displayed, but you are not are redirected back to “Joints” main window.
    • Instead, you are giving the ability to add another new joint. So, you still in “Edit Joint” window to add another joint.
    • Clicking “Return” button, you are redirected back to “Joints” main window and no changes are saved within the system.
