Data Definition

  • Within the system there are some static data such as; Document Type, Joint Category and Location. This window is used to display these static data and give you the ability to Add/delete to/from it.
  • After Logging on to the system, click on the “Definitions” 1Link  from the Quick Links Menu.
  • A window “Data Definition” will be displayed with many tabs each of them refers to a static data within the system such as; “Area”, “Sub Area”, “joint Category”, “joint Type”, “Contractors”, “Location”, “Welder Process”, Piping Class”, “Materials”,” Service” and “Document Type”.
  • By clicking on each tab, Data related will be displayed in a grid view giving you the ability to “Delete” 6or “Edit”3it. There is also an “Add” button to add new data.
  • Project (Area)

  • Clicking on “Area” tab, a grid view with all areas within the system and an “Add” button displayed.
  • Pressing on “Add” button a panel is displayed to add new area.
  • Pressing on “Update” button a panel is displayed to update the selected area.
  • Pressing on “Delete” button   a message for web is displayed with 2 options “Ok”or “Cancel”.
  •  Pressing “ok” the selected area will be deleted.
  • Pressing “Cancel” button the action will cancel.
  • If  there is data within any  area in the system  a message display “This record cannot be deleted because it has related data”2
  • Sub Area/Skid

  • Clicking on “Subarea” tab a panel of area drop list will be displayed.
  • Pressing on “Add” button a panel is displayed to add a new sub area within the selected area from the drop list.
  • Pressing on “Delete” button   a message for web is displayed with 2 options “Ok”or “Cancel”.
  • Pressing “ok” the selected sub area will be deleted.
  • Pressing “Cancel” button the action will cancel.
  • If there is data within any area in the system a message display “You cannot deleted  this record because it exceeded the minimum to this type”3
  • Joint category

  • Clicking “Joint Category” tab, a grid view with all categories within the system and an “Add” button displayed.
  • By pressing “Add” button a panel is displayed to add a new Category that allow to you add joint for this new category.
  • Pressing “Delete” button   a message for web is displayed with 2 options “Ok”or “Cancel”.
  •  Pressing “ok” the selected joint category will be deleted.
  • Pressing “Cancel” button the action will cancel.
  • If  there is any joint within the selected joint category a message display “This record cannot be deleted because it has related data”4
  • Location

  • Clicking “Joint Location” tab, a grid view with all categories within the system and an “Add” button displayed.
  • Pressing “Add” button a panel is displayed to add a new Location that allow to you add joints for this new location.
  • Pressing on “Delete” button   a message for web is displayed with 2 options “Ok”or “Cancel”.
  •  Pressing “ok” the selected joint location will be deleted.
  • Pressing “Cancel” button the action will cancel.
  • If there is any joint within the selected joint location a message display “This record cannot be deleted because it has related data “5
  • Joint Type

  • Clicking “Joint Type” tab, a grid view with all categories within the system and an “Add” button displayed.
  • Pressing “Add” button a panel is displayed to add a new type that allow to you add joints for this new type.
  • Pressing on “Delete” button   a message for web is displayed with 2 options “Ok”or “Cancel”.
  •  Pressing “ok” the selected joint type will be deleted.
  • Pressing “Cancel” button the action will cancel.
  • If there is any joint within the selected joint type a message display “This record cannot be deleted because it has related data “6
  • Contractor

  • Clicking “Contractor” tab, a grid view with all categories within the system and an “Add” button displayed.
  • Pressing “Add” button a panel is displayed to add a new contractor that allow to you add welders for this new contractor.
  • Pressing on “Delete” button   a message for web is displayed with 2 options “Ok”or “Cancel”.
  •  Pressing “ok” the selected contractor will be deleted.
  • Pressing “Cancel” button the action will cancel.
  • If there is any welder within the selected contractor a message display “This record cannot be deleted because it has related data”.7
  • The same steps will be repeated with the remaining tabs: “Welder Process”, Piping Class”, “Materials”,” Service” and “Document Type” and each tab reflected its data into its relating windows.
